I am incredibly thankful

This is a post from a musician/worship leader/friend that was key in helping Mission Athens Music become more than just a bunch of friends playing music in a spare bedroom. This is Ryan Keck talking about being a part of Mission Athens Music and Christ Community Church.

My name is Ryan, and I’m responsible for planning the music for my church’s worship services at River City Church in Chattanooga, TN.

Many moons ago (read 2 years) I was a consistent part of Mission Athens Music at Christ Community Church. I am incredibly thankful for my time in Athens and my involvement at Christ Community Church. God used CCC to begin shaping my understanding of who God is, and what He thinks of me. And it’s where I began to learn how to live in light of that reality.

I couldn’t pick a group of people I would rather make music with than Aaron and the folks at MAM. It was such a blessing to get to be a part of an honest, broken, Jesus-needing and loving group of men and women and it was a huge part of my journey while I was in Athens. A journey that largely consisted of God proving to me that His love is free and I don’t have to hide from Him, He actually likes me. I don’t have to wait until I get a little better to talk to him, I can come to him with all my flaws and cracks. That is something we never stop learning and never fully believe.

I am incredibly thankful for my time in Athens and being involved with Mission Athens Music and Christ Community Church.
